Staring at a blank page.
A few years back, I was helping a close friend shoot content for his YouTube Page. He had been producing a talk show series about inspiring the youth in Uganda. He carried out inspirational interviews with different professionals from different sectors of the economy from doctors to lawyers and marketeers. He explained to me his vision which was basically to start dialogue. He said we couldn’t solve all problems in the world but we could try. He added on to say that “starting is the hardest part”. Those five words stuck with me and I took them to heart. During this time, I was only new in videography and photography and like any other young creative I had uncertainties and self-doubts. What those words of advice did was open my eyes.

When you are starting out, no one is expecting greatness from you, and this gave me the freedom I very much needed at the time to explore my craft. It has been an uphill journey full of lessons and realisations but remembering I did the hardest thing, to start- fills me with purpose.
